Chairman of the United Progressive Party (UPP) D. Gisele Isaac says that no official advance has been made to the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) for an alliance between the two opposition parties.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

This follows a press release issued the DNA leader, Joanne Massiah, refuting a suggestion made on Monday by two of her top ranking members that the time has come for a meeting of the minds.<\/p>\n

Isaac says that the UPP has never been at odds with the DNA since most of its members are former members of the UPP.<\/p>

She says neither party has made any official advances to the other.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Isaac says that there are members of both parties who have conversations all the time.<\/p>\n

She says that many supporters \u201cwould like to see arms laid down\u201d and that the parties reunite.<\/p>

According to Isaac though, this would take some effort.<\/p>\n

The UPP was formed out of several political parties coming together to achieve one main purpose of ridding the country of the Antigua Labour Party (ALP).<\/p>
