FOX News: WINDSOR, Ontario \u2013\u00a0<\/span>Demonstrators at the Ambassador Bridge blockade in Windsor, Canada, slammed law enforcement and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after police cleared the protest Sunday morning.<\/p>

\u201cThis is Canada, it\u2019s supposed to be a free country,\u201d one 83 year-old-man named Joachim Machnic told Fox News. \u201cWe have the right to protest\u201d and \u201cnow we\u2019re even being denied the place to protest.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ambassador Bridge, which connects roughly one-quarter of Canada-U.S. trade, has been blocked for nearly a week by demonstrators advocating for an end to COVID-19 mandates. On Friday, a\u00a0Canadian<\/a>\u00a0court ordered protesters vacate the area.<\/p>

Police began\u00a0enforcing<\/a>\u00a0the order Saturday morning, but many demonstrators still remained that evening.<\/p>

On Sunday morning, police pushed remaining protesters down the road and away from the bridge, making at least a dozen arrests and towing vehicles along the way.<\/p>\n

One demonstrator said: \u201cIt\u2019s unreal. It would be nice to have a little bit more support from the police, but I guess it comes down to this.\u201d<\/p>

Lynn McDonald, said: \u201cIt\u2019s ridiculous\u201d referring to the large police presence. \u201cThis is not what we put our tax payer money out for.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement released Sunday morning, Windsor Police said: \u201cthroughout this demonstration, Police have respected the protesters\u2019 freedom of expression and their right to a peaceful assembly\u2026remaining committed to professionalism, keeping lines of communication open and\u00a0using\u00a0proper\u00a0 police\u00a0discretion,\u00a0guided our response to this major event.\u201d<\/p>

But Machnic felt the response \u201cespecially\u201d by \u201cTrudeau and Ford\u201d was turning Canada into \u201ca communist system.\u201d<\/p>

On Friday,\u00a0Trudeau<\/a>\u00a0called for an end to the \u201cillegal blockades that are taking our neighborhoods and our economy hostage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other demonstrators were also critical of Trudeau. \u201cYou can\u2019t help but notice, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau takes a knee in solidarity with other groups, radical groups, and yet he cowers when we, the people, are speaking,\u201d the demonstrator said. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t reflect well on our leaders,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Many Canadian protesters felt their movement against\u00a0COVID-19<\/a>\u00a0mandates would continue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do think it\u2019s going to continue because there\u2019s a lot of people that really believe strongly in what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
