Escaped prisoner Shanell Thomas was reportedly killed in a police operation last night.<\/span><\/p>

Police said Thomas, 34, escaped the prison farm at Diamonds Estate at around midday on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

They later described the fugitive as armed and dangerous after he evaded officers during an exchange of gunfire in New Winthorpes the following day.<\/span><\/p>

According to a police release at the time, officers tried to apprehend him when they saw him in a car, but he emerged with what appeared to be a firearm and attempted to engage the officers.<\/span><\/p>
