After an extremely contentious back and forth discourse in the media over the past few days as to whether the University of Health and Sciences Antigua (UHSA) indeed fired the newly-appointed senator Johnathan Joseph from his post as the university\u2019s plant manager, they have finally come to terms.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Joseph recently concluded his failed bid to become the representative in St Mary’s North in the March 21 general elections. Shortly after, rumors began to swirl as it had been noticed that Joseph had been absent from the school plant for quite some time.<\/p>\n

The circumstances around his separation then became the subject of a radio discussion. This then led to widespread speculation that Joseph had indeed been let go by the university because of political pressure.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

In a release moments ago, the school said: “the University and the senator have mutually agreed to a separation of employment based on the demands placed on the senator in terms of his political career.”<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

It denied bringing pressure to bear on Joseph to quit adding, \u201cfor the record, Mr. Joseph had requested and was approved 25 days of vacation which he took for the purpose of election campaigning.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mutual separation will take effect on Monday April 16, 2018 and Joseph will receive, \u201can ex gratia payment for services rendered to the university over his period of employment,\u201d the release stated.<\/p>

It was signed both by Senator Johnathan Joseph and UHSA Board Director Deborah Robinson-Akande.<\/p>\n
