The government of Antigua and Barbuda says it has made good on a United Progressive Party manifesto promise to remove Antigua Barbuda Sales Tax on funeral services.<\/p>

The Cabinet announced today that it confirmed its decision to waive the ABST on funerals which it claims was imposed by the previous administration in 2006.<\/p>\n

The UPP promised in March 2018, during the election campaign, to remove the ABST on funerals but prime minister Gaston Browne adopted the idea saying that it was workable.<\/p>

Since coming to office in 2014, the ABLP Administration claims to have been waiving the ABST on funerals that cost $7,000 to $8,000 dollars, “and the two funeral homes have been passing on the savings to customers burying their loved-ones.”<\/p>
