Nick Cannon\u2019s son Zen has died from brain cancer. He was 5 months old.<\/p>

The \u201cMasked Singer\u201d host announced the devastating news on his eponymous talk show Tuesday morning, breaking down in tears as he detailed his son\u2019s private health battle with hydrocephalus and a tumor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always noticed he had a cough \u2026 and so I wanted to check it out,\u201d Cannon, 41, explained. \u201cHe always had this real interesting breathing, and then by the time he was 2 months old, I noticed \u2026 he had a nice-sized head \u2014 I call it a Cannon head.<\/p>

\u201cWe didn\u2019t think anything about it \u2026 but I really wanted to take him to the doctor for the breathing and to get his sinuses checked out. We thought it would be a routine process.\u201d<\/p>

Cannon and Alyssa Scott welcomed Zen in July. The family learned that Zen \u2014 who was Cannon\u2019s seventh child \u2014 had been building up fluid in his brain that turned out to be a malignant tumor.<\/p>\n

Baby Zen underwent surgery to have a shunt put in to drain the fluid. Unfortunately, the tot\u2019s health took a turn near Thanksgiving, so Cannon flew out to Los Angeles to be with Zen and Scott.<\/p>

\u201cThis weekend I made a valid effort to spend the most quality time I could spend with Zen. We woke up on Sunday \u2026 and [went] to the ocean \u2026 and then I had to fly back to New York for the show,\u201d he shared, breaking down in tears. \u201cBy the time I got in the car and was headed to the airport, I had to turn around.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cannon then tearfully shared that he held his son for the last time on Sunday.<\/p>

\u201cYou can\u2019t heal until you feel,\u201d he told the audience, adding that he\u2019s at work so soon after because it serves as a distraction.<\/p>

He called the episode a \u201ccelebration of life\u201d for Zen.<\/p>\n

After Cannon shared the news with his viewers, Alyssa shared a photo of Zen in her arms lying with his eyes closed on her Instagram Story.<\/p>\n

Cannon is also dad to 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey, 4-year-old son Golden and 1-year-old daughter Powerful with Brittany Bell and 5-month-old twins Zion and Zillion with Abby De La Rosa.<\/p>\n
