Dear Editor,<\/p>

I am using this platform to sound the alarm about our children who is the future of this country.<\/p>\n

The joker they call “Minister of Education” and the “Director” Clare Browne promised the people of this country that their children would receive laptops and apparently, it’s only the top government high school students who are reporting getting these laptops.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

It begs the question, what happen to poor people children in this country? My three children attend various government schools across the island, and none of them got laptops that the government promised “all “students would get. This is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable to say the least.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

I work from home and every single day since the pandemic started here, there are children riding up and down on bikes and playing various sports throughout the sad and it saddens my soul to see them missing out on their education for a whole year and a half because they simply do not have access to the internet or laptops to be involved in online learning.<\/p>\n

It makes me angry and very say, because each boy and girl deserve the right to have an education, but this government doesn’t care about the plight of poor people and poor people children unless there is an election upcoming.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

I live on pay check to pay check on a monthly basis, and live in the most less fortune places on island, and struggled on my own as a single parent and took a loan and bought 3 laptops on my already very tight budget just so that my children can get an education and won’t be left behind.<\/p>\n

What happen to other poor people like myself who just can’t see their way in their own country and must can’t afford to make extra sacrifices like I did to simply ensure their children isn’t left behind in their education.<\/p>

I can see for the foreseeable future, after this pandemic has eased that there will be a huge gap in education between the fortune and less fortunate which will affect generations and generations to come.<\/p>

This government needs to get to work, and stop cursing opposition parties and those who criticize them, and address the plight of poor people and poor children in this country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
