Three more deaths were added to the COVID-19 toll last night, September 30, bringing the grim count to 84, and making that month the deadliest, to date.<\/p>

The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre confirmed that a 51-year-old male, who had been admitted since September 6 in severe respirator distress, had died on September 29 at 10 p.m.<\/p>\n

Two females, aged 86 and 75, had been hospitalized in respiratory distress since September 17 and 18, and succumbed on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, respectively.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

On September 1, COVID-19 cases were 1,750, and deaths stood at 44, according to the Ministry of Health\u2019s dashboard.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

However, as the month closed yesterday, total infections had risen to 3,231 \u2013 meaning that 1,481 cases have been confirmed, so far, in September alone.<\/p>\n

This is more than nine times the number of cases logged in all of 2020.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Meanwhile, September\u2019s confirmed deaths number 40, bringing total virus fatalities to 84.<\/p>\n

The most recent dashboard \u2013 published September 30 \u2013 reported 43 positive cases for Tuesday, September 28. These took active infections to 946.<\/p>

There have been 72 recovered cases, increasing that figure to 2,206.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

In the meantime, pursuing the Government\u2019s goal of community immunity \u2013 which targets 80,000 persons \u2013 42,427 individuals have been fully vaccinated and 9,444 have received their first dose.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the authorities say that at least 30,000 adults and children between 12 and 17 years old still require vaccination.<\/p>\n
