The hierarchy of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has not taken kindly to statements made by the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne, who claimed that police officers in Grenada dropped the ball in dealing with the COVID-19 situation.<\/p>

Browne made the comments during Parliament while noting the COVID-19 crisis is overwhelming islands of the Eastern Caribbean.<\/p>\n

Browne said, \u201cThere is a growing crisis with the OECS, let us look at Saint Lucia. Saint Lucia has about 180 deaths so far, thousands of active cases.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cThe police never dropped the ball, the police have always been doing what is within their powers and I\u2019m pretty sure that the Prime Minister of Antigua did not have 150 officers being infected within his Force,\u201d Dorian O\u2019Brian, Deputy Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Corporate Affairs and Professional Standards said Wednesday.<\/p>

\u201cSometimes when people say the police dropped the ball they must understand the situation that they\u2019re in,\u201d Obrian continued.<\/p>\n
