The Lower House of Parliament will convene on Thursday to discuss a number of bills and resolutions relating to government\u2019s management of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>

Minister for Education, Sports and the Creative Industries, the Hon. Daryll Matthew, will move the first, second and third reading of the Education (Amendment) Bill, 2021 which seeks to align the legislation with other regulations specifying the mode of admission into both primary and secondary schools.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne will move the first, second and third readings of the Virtual Assets Business Bill, 2021 which will further regulate virtual business in Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

In addition, Prime Minister Browne will move a resolution of the legislature pursuant to Section 20 (5) of the Constitution of Antigua and Barbuda extending the State of Public Emergency until 27th<\/sup>\u00a0December 2021.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The current State of Public Emergency expires on 27th<\/sup>\u00a0September 2021.<\/p>\n

The State of Public Emergency was brought into force by the government to control and arrest the spread of the dangerous infectious disease COVID-19.<\/p>

Government believes that the success of the various measures enacted to control the spread of the disease requires that the State of Public Emergency be continued for a further period of three months unless sooner revoked by a Resolution of the Parliament.<\/p>\n
