Commissioner of Police, Atlee Rodney and other members of the police force took time out on Thursday to visit a number of retired police officers, as part of their police week celebration.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Mr. Rodney used the opportunity during the visit to express gratitude to the retired veterans for their years of dedicated service to the police force, and by extension the nation of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n

Many of them became overwhelmed by the kind gesture, as they welcomed the visit from their former colleagues.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

One retired senior sergeant said, \u201cThis visit is so touching and heart-warming; it shows that we are not forgotten.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Each retired officer was presented with a package containing food and other essential items.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, the officers exhibited a similar act of kindness by distributing well over 200 hundred care packages to residents in several communities across Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

The theme for this year\u2019s police week is, \u201cWorking together to achieve stability in times of uncertainty\u201d.<\/p>\n

The activities officially come to an end on Saturday 11th<\/sup>\u00a0September.<\/p>
