Over 200 care packages were distributed across several communities throughout Antigua and Barbuda by members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda on Wednesday.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The initiative, which coincides with the 53rd<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of police week, saw packages of food items and toiletries being distributed among residents in Division A, B, C, and D; including Barbuda.<\/p>\n

Commissioner of Police, Mr. Atlee Rodney highlighted the importance of giving back to the community in a tangible way.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He said, \u201cIt is important that we stay connected with the people we serve and continue to show our appreciation for their support over the years\u201d.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Deputy Commissioner Everton Jeffers, who is the chairperson of the police week committee, spearheaded the social program.<\/p>\n

He used the opportunity to thank those who made it possible and assured the public of the continued commitment of the police.<\/p>

On Thursday 9th<\/sup>\u00a0September, the officers will continue on their humanitarian drive, while paying courtesy visits to several retired police officers.<\/p>\n
