LIAT announced today that it has\u00a0concluded a commercial agreement with Caribbean Airlines to operate flights on the Trinidad and Tobago air bridge.<\/p>

The airline says it will operate an ATR 72 aircraft to provide assistance in moving passengers on the air bridge.<\/p>\n

The agreement between the airlines follows challenges related to ferrying passengers between the islands.<\/p>

Chief Executive Officer of LIAT, Julie Reifer-Jones, noted that this type of cooperation
\nis an important part of maintaining connectivity.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cWe are happy to enter into this agreement with Caribbean Airlines to assist them in providing this integral service.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

She stated the LIAT aircraft will be operated and maintained by LIAT staff.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The CEO noted that the Government of Trinidad and Tobago is also a shareholder in
\nLIAT and the airline is happy to be able to assist at this critical time.<\/p>\n

The commercial agreement saw the first flight being operated on Monday afternoon from the Piarco International Airport.<\/p>

LIAT\u2019s regular schedule will be maintained as the airline continues to work to restore
\nconnectivity to its destinations affected by the hurricanes of 2017.<\/p>
