St. Lucia on Saturday recorded 156 new cases of COVID-19.<\/p>

These cases are from a total of 550 samples processed at the Ezra Long Laboratory on Friday Aug. 20. These cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 7,111.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

The Ministry of Health also received confirmation of 34 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19. This brings the total number of active cases currently on record in country to 1315. Four of these active cases are in critical care at the Respiratory Hospital.<\/p>

To date, a total of 34, 601 first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine have been administered and 27, 222 second doses.<\/p>

On Monday August 23, 2021 the Ministry of Health will commence the administering of
\nthe Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to the population.<\/p>\n

The Pfizer vaccine will be available at all COVID-19 vaccination sites and community wellness centers.<\/p>

Individuals will now be provided with a choice when taking the COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n
