The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John Medical Centre has revealed forty-three (43) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Thursday 19th August 2021 at 6pm.<\/p>\n

Twenty (20) of these cases were recorded on August 18th and twenty-three (23) on August 19th.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/div>\n

The Epidemiology Unit is still in the process of ascertaining whether the cases are imported or non-imported. Once the information is verified, it will be published in a subsequent publication.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Two hundred and forty-eight (248) samples were processed at Sir Lester Bird MSJMC.<\/p>\n

Fourteen (14) recovered cases were recorded increasing the total to one thousand two hundred and ninety-nine (1299).<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is one thousand four hundred and ninety (1490); which is inclusive of one hundred and forty-eight (148) active cases. There are thirteen (13) hospitalized cases; nine (9) mild, two (2) moderate and two (2) severe.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Antigua and Barbuda has fully vaccinated thirty two thousand three hundred and thirty-three (32,733) individuals while six thousand six hundred and seventy-nine (6,679) have only received their first dose.<\/p>
