The Antigua Met Office said last night that Tropical storm grace was no longer a threat<\/p>

As a result, all tropical storm warnings have been discontinued immediately. A flash flood watch was also discontinued.<\/p>

This after a hurricane hunter aircraft investigated tropical storm grace and found it weaker than previously anticipated, a minimal tropical storm, at best. It is possible that grace could restrengthen; however, if this happens, the system will be well out of our area.<\/p>\n

But the Met Office cautioned that there is still a lot of time left in the hurricane season; thus, residents should continue to monitor the area between Africa and the Caribbean and stay prepared in order to safeguard life, property and livelihood from future tropical storms, hurricanes and other extreme weather events.<\/p>\n

As of 8 a. m., Grace was 100 miles south-southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico, moving west-northwest at 16 mph with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A tropical storm warning was issued for the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, British Virgin Islands and the Dominican Republic. Grace could reach the Dominican Republic by Monday morning, according to forecasters, and is expected to bring heavy rain of 4 to 7 inches and flooding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The track then has it traversing northern Haiti early Tuesday. The country rocked was rocked by a 7.2 earthquake on Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
