Indeed, if you ever find yourself watching the West Indies at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in Antigua on a hot summer’s day, you won’t ever have to ask which player Cornwall is.<\/p>

From Liberta to playing for the West Indies<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 28-year-old hails from Antigua’s third-largest town, Liberta. Cricket was already familiar to Rahkeem Cornwall through his relation to his uncle, the legendary Wilden Cornwall who has racked up just over 50 first-class games in his cricketing career so far.<\/p>

Rakheem’s passion for the game translated into accolades such as representing the Leeward Islands in 2014, before being given his West Indies debut in August 2019 when the islanders took on India in Jamaica. It was indeed the proverbial baptism of fire for Cornwall in Test cricket after the Indians claimed an astonishing 257 run win but encouragingly still, the Antiguan managed to leave Kingston with three wickets on his debut.<\/p>
