The Halo Foundation has assured the Street Pastors Antigua and Barbuda Branch of \u00a0its commitment to the advocacy and support of this non-profit organisation.

Earlier this week, Street Pastors was officially\u00a0recognised as one of over thirty charities under the patronage of the Governor General, H.E. Sir Rodney Williams and H.E. Lady Williams.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sir\u00a0Rodney commended \u00a0Mr. Barry Sebastian, Co-ordinator of the Antigua and Barbuda\u00a0Branch, on the meaningful work of the group\u00a0\u2014\u00a0 despite\u00a0constant challenges and limited resources.\u00a0\u201cAiding and enabling the homeless is a formidable effort\u201d, he remarked. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cThe Street Pastors\u2019 squad of more than thirty strong in Antigua is certainly playing its part through distribution of food and other necessities, while attending to the spiritual well-being of those with no fixed abode. It was\u00a0this important \u00a0focus\u00a0upon the preservation of dignity and humanity, that led me to present Antiguan and\u00a0Barbudan Rev. Les Isaac,\u00a0Founder of Street Pastors, with the Governor General\u2019s Diaspora Award (U.K.) in 2017.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Lady\u00a0Williams added,\u00a0\u201cOur young team, Generation Y, has already taken to the streets to assist with the work of Street Pastors.
\n<\/span><\/p>

We have promised that this will be a regular activity, and will be supplying food for distribution at least once per month.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

There are also other medium and long term projects that are currently under discussion. \u00a0If, at\u00a0the end of the day, we have managed to alleviate the hardship of the homeless and destitute in any way, we\u00a0would have achieved our objective\u201d.<\/span><\/p>

About Street Pastors: <\/strong><\/i>The organisation was pioneered in London in 2003 by [Antiguan and Barbudan] \u00a0Rev. Les Isaac, OBE. Its purpose is to\u00a0\u201cprovide a\u00a0Christian presence on the streets in local communities in order to listen, care and help\u201d. In addition to the United Kingdom (where there are over 9,000 trained volunteers), \u00a0international branches operate in Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, USA, Nigeria, Ireland, Gibraltar, the Channel Islands and Australia.<\/span><\/p>
