Hyacinth Mottley, the country\u2019s oldest resident has died at the incredible age of 107. Mottley, born in Barbados celebrated her last birthday in May 2021. Mottley lived in Antigua for more than 75 years.<\/p>

She leaves behind son Dr Marcus Mottley, two grandsons and a great granddaughter.<\/p>\n

Mottley was a long-standing member of the Roman Catholic Church which she attended every Sunday for decades of her life.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>

Known for her fierce independence, she was a firm believer in the power of prayer and praise.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

This was exemplified in her book \u201cWords of Wisdom \u2013 Words of Praise\u201d which she published when she was 97.<\/p>\n

Mottley, who lived on All Saints Road, passed away this morning.<\/p>
