On Sunday 4<\/span>th <\/span>July,\u00a0 the Rotaract Club of Antigua officially installed its new executive board for the upcoming\u00a0 year 2021-2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Immediate Past President (IPP), Ti-anna Harris handed over the reins of the youth service\u00a0 organization to Ms. Ashlee Christian, as the club\u2019s 35<\/span>th <\/span>President.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In her remarks, IPP Harris, who served two consecutive terms as President, thanked the\u00a0 members of the Rotaract Club for entrusting her with the opportunity to live up to the club\u2019s\u00a0 motto, \u201cService Above Self\u201d. <\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

She further expressed that some of the key projects during her\u00a0 tenure included the donation of water tanks to persons within the disabled community;\u00a0 Christmas donations to the residents at Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital; as well as the two\u00a0 most recent donations of supplies to the Greenbay Primary School, and an automated\u00a0 external defibrillator to the Cancer Center Eastern Caribbean.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In her closing comments, she thanked the Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of\u00a0 Antigua, Mr. Kevin Silston for his support on their clubs\u2019 joint projects, and left a special\u00a0 charge to the incoming President, Ms. Ashlee Christian, \u201calways put the members of the club\u00a0 first\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

President Christian, who is currently an inspector at the Antigua and Barbuda Social Security\u00a0 Board, credits the Rotaract Club of Antigua for her personal and professional growth having\u00a0 been a member since 2017. <\/span><\/p>

Over the years, she has served in numerous capacities, including\u00a0 Treasurer, Finance and Fundraising Director, Vice President, and her most recent position,\u00a0 Community Service Director.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In her first speech as President, she urged the members to reflect on the reasons why they\u00a0 joined the club, while they continue to work towards a common goal, to serve. <\/span><\/p>

During her\u00a0 upcoming year as President, she expressed that it is her full intent to lead the organization\u00a0 with integrity, accountability, strategy, and most importantly teamwork. <\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

In addition to this,\u00a0 she acknowledged that the club\u2019s main resource is its members, and as such, over the next\u00a0 twelve months, it is crucial to improve the quality of the membership experience, focusing\u00a0 immensely on recruitment, retention, and continuity.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In her final remarks, she expressed sincere gratitude to IPP Ti-anna Harris, for her continued\u00a0 motivation, and the opportunity to serve on her previous board of directors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Working alongside President Christian for the 2021-2022 Rotaract year, is a group of\u00a0 dynamic and professional young adults, who comprise the club\u2019s new Board of Directors.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

These individuals include Ms. Martina Lewis, Vice-President; Ms. Alaina Gomes, Secretary;\u00a0 Ms. Lynma Burton, Treasurer; Ms. Ti-anna Harris, Immediate Past President; Dr. Namadi\u00a0 Belle, Community Service Director; Mr. Yhan Roberts, International Service Director; Ms.\u00a0 Romancier Edwards, Club Service Director; Ms. Nikki Laville, Professional Development\u00a0 Director; and Ms. Jennell Willette, Public Relations Officer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the upcoming year, under the theme, \u201cServe. Lead. Empower. Change\u201d, President\u00a0 Christian notes that the club will continue to focus on the membership experience, in\u00a0 addition to increasing fundraising programs and service projects. <\/span><\/p>\n

She further states that\u00a0 some of the initiatives that the club will be embarking on in the near future include a\u00a0 Childhood Obesity Project, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Antigua; Mental health\u00a0 initiatives and food drives; and the Mommy and Me Programme.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
