BBC-<\/strong>The Balearic Islands, Malta, Madeira and Barbados are among the places being added to the UK government\u2019s green list, the transport secretary has said.<\/p>

From 04:00 on 30 June, people entering the UK from these places do not have to quarantine, Grant Shapps confirmed.<\/p>\n

He also said there were plans to allow quarantine-free travel from amber list countries for people who were fully vaccinated.<\/p>

Six destinations have been added to the government\u2019s red list.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

However, the prospect of European holidays could face another hurdle after German Chancellor Angela Merkel suggested all EU countries should make British travellers quarantine on arrival to slow the spread of the Delta variant.
\nThe destinations added to the green list from 04:00 BST on 30 June are:<\/p>\n

\n\u25a0 British Virgin Islands<\/p>\n

\u25a0 Cayman Islands
\n\u25a0 Dominica
\n\u25a0 Grenada
\n\u25a0 Madeira
\n\u25a0 Malta
\n\u25a0 Montserrat
\n\u25a0 Pitcairn Islands
\n\u25a0 Turks and Caicos Islands
\nThe places added to the red lists for the same time are:

\n\u25a0 Eritrea
\n\u25a0 Haiti
\n\u25a0 Mongolia
\n\u25a0 Tunisia
\n\u25a0 Uganda<\/p>

Those travelling to the UK from these countries will need to quarantine in a hotel for 10 days.<\/p>

Mr Shapps tweeted it was the government\u2019s intention that \u201clater in the summer\u201d UK residents who were fully vaccinated would no longer have to self-isolate after travelling from amber list countries.<\/p>\n

He said the government would set out details of this next month.<\/p>\n
