The mother of a 12 year-old girl and the staff of a secondary school are reportedly upset that the Police have not yet acted on a report that allegedly involves a senior officer.<\/p>

A source tells REAL News that, since Wednesday, June 16, the parent made the report that an adult male was preying on her daughter.<\/p>\n

However, since the preliminary investigation identified the man involved as a senior police officer, nothing further has been done, the source alleges.<\/p>

Reportedly, staff at the\u00a0 school intercepted an inappropriate WhatsApp conversation between the young girl and the then unknown male: The man is said to have made arrangements with the child to pick her up after school and take her to his house.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Reports say the cell phone was confiscated and the girl\u2019s mother called to the school.<\/p>\n

On reading the messages, the mother took possession of the phone, collected her child, and made a report to the St John\u2019s Police Station.<\/p>

The source tells REAL News that the Police then made contact with the person who was sending the messages \u2014 and discovered he is one of their own: an officer of senior rank.<\/p>\n

It is alleged that the officer who took the mother\u2019s report kept the phone and sent the woman home, not knowing how to handle the situation.<\/p>

The source could not confirm whether the matter was escalated\u00a0 to the upper levels of the Police administration.<\/p>

Reportedly, the distressed mother \u2013 who is acquainted with the senior officer \u2013 is hoping for disciplinary action, if not criminal prosecution, to be taken against him, since he frequents an area near the child\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

It was only two weeks ago that another veteran officer, attached to the Fire Department, was arrested and charged with larceny connected to the XPZ Supermarket fire and with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.<\/p>\n
