High seas and winds due to a “powerful and huge low-pressure system covering the Atlantic” is causing disruption to businesses and traffic in the south of the island, as large swells pound the coastline and flood roads.<\/p>

Roads in the southern part of the island, including in the Crab Hill area, have been rendered impassable because of flooding due to the high waves. Reports from the area have also indicated that several vehicles were stuck attempting to cross the dams of water the weather feature created.<\/p>\n

The Met Office had warned that the trough would have caused the high swells which could lead to flooding and massive coastal erosion.<\/p>

The effects of the high waves can also be seen at Fort James, where seawater has made its way into the roadways as well.<\/p>
