He showed an email conversation between Barbara Jarabica and the AirBNB owner. Mehul Choksi\u2019s lawyer claimed that Barbara had enquired if there was a place for docking a small boat in the backyard. Polak added that she had discussed taking two adjoining properties after getting confirmation about a docking place for boats.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-story-add\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"story-recommended-chunk\">\n<div id=\"readmore\" class=\"readmore\">\n<div id=\"swiper-container\" class=\"swiper-container-latest\">\n<ul id=\"swipe\" class=\"swiper-wrapper-latest\">\n<li class=\"recengine-slide_latest lazyList swiper-slide\">\n<div class=\"rec-sl-inner_latest\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The lawyer alleged that Barbara Jabarica left Antigua and Barbuda in a private plane for Dominica at 7.26 pm.<\/p><div id=\"antig-4212926314\" class=\"antig-content_2 antig-entity-placement\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.courts.com\/antigua\/\" aria-label=\"500X500 (1)\"><img src=\"https:\/\/mlavawteztbj.i.optimole.com\/w:500\/h:500\/q:mauto\/f:best\/https:\/\/antiguanewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/500X500-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"  srcset=\"https:\/\/mlavawteztbj.i.optimole.com\/w:500\/h:500\/q:mauto\/f:best\/https:\/\/antiguanewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/500X500-1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/mlavawteztbj.i.optimole.com\/w:300\/h:300\/q:mauto\/f:best\/https:\/\/antiguanewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/500X500-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mlavawteztbj.i.optimole.com\/w:150\/h:150\/q:mauto\/f:best\/https:\/\/antiguanewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/500X500-1.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Regarding the case registered in London, Polak said the motive for removing him from Antigua and Barbuda was to \u201cdiminish his protection under the law. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Antigua, he has the right to appeal to the privy council in London. In Dominica, he does not have that protection. It is very important thing to look at. India obviously wants to try to move Choksi to India. Had he signed a piece of paper that said he had already been there? When any country wants to leave the privy council, like communicated, nobody from the British establishment stands in their way&#8230; So it&#8217;s a choice for the people of the Commonwealth countries, whether they want this right. And the Antiguan people were given that choice and they clearly chose to keep the privy council.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-story-add\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1559542262710-1\" class=\"itg_js_ad_load_loop\" data-google-query-id=\"CMuCxrKbkvECFcq5swod2SUFWQ\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/1007232\/Indiatoday_ROS_MTF_1_300x250-728x90_1__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The lawyer also indicated that Choksi was tortured.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The process is with the Metropolitan Police and we will let them carry out their investigations. We say in this case there is evidence of torture,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also rejected statements from the Dominican side, claiming that it took them a few days to ascertain Choksi\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDominican authorities, we believe, knew exactly who they were receiving from the coast guard. Anything else just doesn&#8217;t bare any credence. He was brought for a purpose to remove his rights in Antigua and we say any statement from the Dominican side that they didn&#8217;t know who he was is not true. He told them who he was. He was denied access to counsel for three days.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-story-add\">\n<div class=\"adtext\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1559542262710-2\" class=\"itg_js_ad_load_loop\" data-google-query-id=\"CMuDxrKbkvECFcq5swod2SUFWQ\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/1007232\/Indiatoday_ROS_MTF_1_300x250-728x90_2__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Reposing faith in the British system, he said, \u201cThe Metropolitan Police has a specialised war crimes team who are trained to investigate international matters. So, they know how the law works, they know how to investigate this kind of case. We have faith in them carrying out proper investigations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the complaint, Polak has reportedly named Gurdip Bath, Gurjit Singh Bhandal and Gurmit Singh besides Jabarica.
