Antigua and Barbuda received 16,800 doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine that were secured through the COVAX facility.<\/p>

Health Minister, the honourable Sir Molwyn Joseph and Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Alfred Athill collected the Vaccines at the V.C Bird International Airport.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The public is being encouraged to actively participate in the COVID-19 vaccination program to create herd immunity, whereby the majority of the population is protected from becoming seriously ill with COVID-19.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

With herd immunity, it is expected that the country will return to some degree of normalcy, thereby facilitating economic, social and cultural activities with greater ease of travel.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

To date, 34,644 first doses of the Covid-19 vaccines have been administered, while 23,430 second doses were administered.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, residents are reminded of the four vaccination sites: Villa Polyclinic, Glanvilles Polyclinic, Perry Bay Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Center, and the Precision Center in Paynters.<\/p>

The public vaccination sites will operate on Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is reminding the public that pre-registration for COVID-19 vaccination continues.<\/p>

Persons who have received the first dose are also advised to secure their vaccination cards, as these must be presented for the second COVID-19 vaccine dose.<\/p>\n
