Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John\u2019s Medical Centre (SLBMSJMC) is pleased to announce its new Board of Directors which includes Glentis Goodwin as the Chairman.<\/p>

\u201cIt is an honor to be appointed to serve as Chair of the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John\u2019s Medical Centre. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board and the hospital team as we fight our way out of the COVID crisis and start to plan for a post-pandemic world,\u201d said new chairman, Glentis Goodwin.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to fulfilling the organization\u2019s mission and vision\u2014promoting health and ensuring access to high quality healthcare services to the community and to be the regional accredited healthcare institution of choice. Our name has changed but our commitment to patient care remains strong.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cNow, more than ever, our Board of Directors needs the steady hands of seasoned leaders to continue to steer our hospital through the COVID-19 crisis and into a post-pandemic world,\u201d said Dr. Albert Duncan, SLBMSJMC Medical Director.<\/p>

\u201cI have every confidence that\u2014with the leadership of Mr. Goodwin\u2014this new board will bring the right mix of best practices, collaboration, and new ideas to help us evolve to meet the changing needs of our hospital and healthcare team, and the patients we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goodwin will succeed Sean Cenac, former Board Chairman. Mr. Cenac will continue his service to the Board as its Deputy Chairman.<\/p>

The Medical Director also extended appreciation to the departing chairman for his leadership and contributions to the board. \u201cI specifically want to thank Mr. Cenac for his leadership of the MSJMC Board,\u201d Duncan continued. \u201cEspecially during this difficult time, we are grateful for his enthusiastic service and unwavering commitment. Mr. Cenac\u2019s reappointment to the Board as Deputy Chairman will help to ensure there is continuity of purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI offer my congratulations and welcome to the new Board,” said Gary Thomas, SLBMSJMC Director of Administration. “We are excited to have this group of individuals bring their unique talents, expertise and perspectives to the work of the organization in order to further our vision of becoming an internationally accredited healthcare institution.\u201d<\/p>

The Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John\u2019s Medical Centre Board of Directors is responsible for setting long-term strategy and direction, governing the hospital\u2019s activities, and fulfilling the organization\u2019s fiduciary responsibility. It is composed of 10 appointed members, including the chair and deputy chair.<\/p>
