Travel Advisors Selling the Caribbean (TASC) in conjunction the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is celebrating National Travel Advisor Day <\/strong>on May 5, 2021, by recognizing advisors for their positive efforts in promoting and selling travel to the region. Not only do travel advisors serve the needs of their clients, but they contribute to the generation of well needed economic activity throughout the region.<\/p>

These two organizations that are committed to the economic growth and development of the Caribbean, TASC and OECS will collaborate to host the first Caribbean Virtual Expo on June 17, 2021. The one-day event will be staged as part of the Caribbean Heritage Month Celebrations under the theme \u201cFrom Survival to Sustainability: Charting the Future Course of Caribbean Tourism.\u201d\u00a0 <\/em>The Caribbean Virtual Travel Expo will be officially launched on National Travel Advisor Day <\/strong>and the TASC\/OECS Team will spend the day encouraging travel advisors to register for the virtual learning initiative. There will be several online discussions about how TASC\/OECS can support the travel advisors in generate sales, as they continue to make a significant economic impact, in one of the most tourism-dependent regions of the world.<\/p>

About OECS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is an International Organisation dedicated to economic harmonisation and integration, protection of human and legal rights, and the encouragement of good governance among independent and non-independent countries in the Eastern Caribbean. The OECS came into being on June 18th 1981, when seven Eastern Caribbean countries signed a treaty agreeing to cooperate with each other while promoting unity and solidarity among its Members. The Treaty became known as the Treaty of Basseterre, so named in honour of the capital city of St. Kitts and Nevis where it was signed. The OECS today, currently has eleven members, spread across the Eastern Caribbean comprising Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Martinique and Guadeloupe.<\/p>\n

About the Caribbean Virtual Travel Expo<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Caribbean Travel Virtual Expo will offer unique and interactive digital marketing sessions and networking opportunities to instruct, excite, and ignite the passions of valued travel advisors and inspire them to set new records in Caribbean tourism sales.\u00a0 The event will be entirely digital and highly interactive, 100% free and open to all travel professionals, regardless of skill sets, experience levels and niche focus.\u00a0 Sessions targeting travel advisors will run from 8am \u2013 5pm and sessions targeting travel enthusiasts will run from 5pm \u2013 8pm. There will be a mix of 30-minute presentations and 45-minute educational sessions, with fun networking opportunities throughout the day.
