UK donates more equipment to Antigua and Barbuda Customs Division<\/strong><\/p>

The British High Commission donated XCD 15,000 worth of health and safety equipment to the Customs Division at a brief handover ceremony yesterday.<\/p>\n

The equipment, provided by the UK Border Force, is another example of the continued close relationship and collaboration between the governments of Antigua and Barbuda and the United Kingdom.<\/p>

Resident British Commissioner, Ms Lindsy Thompson, underscored this point at a ceremony to hand over the equipment on 27 April.<\/p>

 <\/p>\n

During her remarks when she stated, \u201cWith two direct flights between our nations each week \u2013 hopefully more as we all continue to beat COVID \u2013 the UK is keenly aware of the importance of supporting our Customs and Border colleagues across the Atlantic\u201d.<\/p>\n

The PPE equipment donated by the UK will help to protect the health and safety of the Customs Officers operating in the twin island nation.<\/p>

In response, the Comptroller of Customs, Mr Raju Boddu, noted the UK Border Force continued support to Antigua and Barbuda Customs.<\/p>\n

He stated that the donation is of \u201cimmense value to significantly strengthen our security architecture and operational facility\u201d.<\/p>
