Health officials are undertaking a major testing operations of prisoners for the coronavirus.<\/p>

The exercise started this morning with prisoners on remand.<\/p>\n

Antigua News Room was told over 200 prisoners are expected to be tested in an exercise expected to run into Sunday.<\/p>

It is not clear what brought on this recent round of testing, however, health officials had warned prisoners who refused to be vaccinated that they will have to undergo regular PCR tests.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

So far, 36 prisoners have tested positive for the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

Many of them have already recovered and are back in the general prison population following their period of isolation at Crabbs.<\/p>
