The Ministry of Education, Sports & Creative Industries in collaboration with FLOW Antigua and Barbuda will be celebrating along with over 150 countries globally, International Girls in ICT Day on 22nd April 2021.<\/p>

Since the inception in 2011, on the fourth Thursday of April annually, government bodies, ICT companies, academic institutions, UN agencies and NGOs globally encourage girls and young women to pursue studies and careers in ICT or ICT related fields.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

A series of pre-events leading up to the 22nd of April 2021 will be held to mark the celebration of the 10th annual International Girls in ICT Day.<\/p>

We will be hosting a Tik Tok Video Competition<\/strong>. Students will be required to submit a Tik-Tok video about one woman in ICT who inspires them using the hashtags, #GirlsinICT<\/strong>, #GirlsICTANU<\/strong>,#GirlsinICT268<\/strong>. The submission deadline for the competition is 21st<\/sup> April 2021<\/strong>. Details on how to enter can be found on our website education.gov.ag <\/strong><\/p>\n

The general public is also encouraged to participate by posting images of female relatives (3 years \u2013 18 years) with their favourite electronic device. We also encourage the public to Snap, Tweet, Tik Tok or post on Facebook their favourite female in ICT. You can also\u00a0buy real TikTok followers<\/a><\/p>\n

On the 22nd April, the day of the event, 17 female Third Form students from Public and Private Schools in Antigua and Barbuda will be brought together for a day-long seminar and Technology Challenge commemorating International Girls in ICT Day. This event will serve to draw attention to the critical need for more girls and women in the ICT sector and create an opportunity for the students to solve a problem using newly acquired skills.<\/p>
