Update on Extended Closure on Sir Sydney Walling Highway North Sound Roundabout to Parham Corner.<\/p>

C.O.Williams Construction Limited has been awarded the contract to undertake major Rehabilitation works on four (4) of the Nation\u2019s major Thoroughfares.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

These are Sir Sydney Walling Highway (SSWH) (NB- inclusive of Pares Main Road), Old Parham Road (OPR), Valley Road North (VRN) and Anchorage Road (AR).<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Contractor is currently working on Sir Sydney Walling Highway (SSWH) where thirty (30%) percent of the Road Pavement Structure and seventy-six (76%) percent of the Shoulder works has been installed to date.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Thus far, 60% of the Telecoms infrastructure has been installed while Water Works are set to commence in April.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is as a result of an extended delay in the shipment of materials to undertake the Works due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic and adverse weather condition recently experienced in Texas USA, where the material has been procured.<\/p>\n

The current closure between North Sound Roundabout to Parham Corner is expected to remain in place for a further five (5) weeks to allow for the completed reinforced concrete (RC) culvert to cure adequately to industry best practices.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During this period Water mains will be installed as well as the final 1.5\u201d structural layer, before the section is opened on Monday 3rd<\/sup> May 2021.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Disruptions and delays within the Traffic Network is anticipated to be further impacted as the major works progress.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, every effort will be made to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and kept up to date with the progress and Traffic Management measures to be instituted forty-eight (48hrs) hours in advance of the Works.<\/p>\n

We appeal to the Public to traverse the Work Zones with due caution adhering to the temporary traffic lights and traffic attendants. The safety of the Public and the Workers is of utmost importance.<\/p>\n
