A poll conducted ahead of the next general election has found that\u00a0cost of\u00a0living\u00a0is\u00a0among\u00a0major concerns for residents.<\/p>

In the latest CADRES poll by Peter Wickhman, residents were asked to present the major national issues of concern to them.<\/p>\n

“And it is noteworthy that on this occasion the Cost of Living is the major concern with 27% of Antiguans, while Unemployment and Crime shared the second spot at 15%.”<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Wickham\u00a0says this is a changed scenario from June of 2016 when the last national
\npoll was conducted by CADRES.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

At that time, 26% of Antiguans or the majority of persons polled were concerned about unemployment which has now slipped to 15%, while the Cost of Living has moved
\nfrom 19% in 2016 to 27% currently.<\/p>\n

The pollster says this is suggesting that “more Antiguans are working but are now finding it difficult to cope.”<\/p>

The poll conducted between Feb 2-5 found that concerns about the economy has declined marginally from 13% in 2016 to 11% currently.<\/p>\n
