The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine pause in Martinique is in line with the decision announced Monday by France.<\/p>\n

French President Emmanuel Macron said France will stop administering the jab as a \u201cprecaution.\u201d<\/p>

<\/div>\n

France is awaiting a new assessment by the European Union\u2019s medicines regulator.<\/p>\n

Health officials expected that the\u00a0 European Medicines Agency would make an announcement Tuesday.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Several European countries have already suspended using the AstraZeneca vaccine.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

They include Denmark, Norway, Ireland and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

The countries decided to put the vaccines on hold after reports of possible side-effects.<\/p>\n

However, the vaccine developers say there\u2019s no link between their vaccine and blood clotting.<\/p>\n

And both the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the European Medicines Agency\u00a0 say there\u2019s no evidence so far that\u00a0 the vaccine causes serious adverse effects.<\/p>\n
