The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment continues to be encouraged by the public demand for the COVID-19 vaccine and notes that as of Saturday 6th March 14,218 vaccines had been administered.<\/p>

Antigua and Barbuda is almost at the half way mark of the 40,000 doses of vaccines received recently from the Government of India and is awaiting word from the COVAX facility on additional vaccines for which the government has already paid.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda paid the COVAX facility for 40, 800 doses of COVID-19 vaccines. The government is confident it will obtain enough vaccines to administer to the entire population.<\/p>

 <\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is advising the public that currently vaccination is being distributed to key groupings of the population as a priority.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

These key groups include persons ages 65 and above as they are most vulnerable to COVID-19 virus, and persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hotel workers, airport workers, teachers, are the other key groups for vaccination based on their support of economic and educational activities in Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

 <\/p>\n

Vaccination to public will be distributed based on availability on the island.<\/p>\n

The COVID-19 vaccination program continues in 4 centers located at the Jennings Primary School, the All-Saints Secondary School, the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre, and the Sir Novelle Richards Academy until Wednesday, 10th March 2021.<\/p>

Vaccination at the Villa and Glanvilles Polyclinics will resume on Thursday 11th March 2021 thus maintaining the original 4 vaccination sites.<\/p>

Individuals are required to present their identification cards at vaccination sites all of which open from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n
