Prime Minister Gaston Browne said that a woman caused COVID-19 to spread among residents at the Fiennes Institute.<\/p>

Browne revealed this on Pointe FM on Saturday after saying sometimes, \u201cthey accuse us of covering up.\u201d<\/p>

The Prime Minister said he was aware of the information a week prior but \u201cdecided not to touch it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reality is we had about four residents of the Fiennes Institute who were literally taken out from an irresponsible person who inadvertently spread the virus within the institution,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Browne added, \u201cwe are pretty confident as to who that person may have been, but I don\u2019t want to mention the name to create any unnecessary controversy.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Prime Minister further revealed that the woman \u201cknew that she could have been COVID positive but didn\u2019t take the necessary precautions.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He said in these situations, \u201cwe need to look after each other and be our brother\u2019s keeper and our sister\u2019s protector.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Prime Minister cautioned, \u201cwe cannot allow complacency and negligence to take over or even ignorance, for that matter\u201d, adding, \u201cthe best allies of COVID are complacency and ignorance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you state these things, you know people become deviant, they become defensive, and they feel that you\u2019re trying to shame them. We\u2019re not trying to shame them. What we\u2019re trying to do is explain the risk to the population so that people can avoid making those mistakes\u201d, Browne insisted.<\/p>\n
