Antigua News Room has been reliably informed that well known musician Tyrone Mason has died.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The Department of Culture released the following statement in light of his passing.<\/p>\n

\n

It is with deepest sorrow that the Department of Culture is once again bidding farewell to one of Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s extra-ordinary musicians.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mr. Tyron Mason also known as \u201cScaly\u201d built upon a musical platform that was originally cemented by his Father – Cultural Icon Oscar Mason. His contribution to music here in Antigua and Barbuda and especially his involvement with Carnival left an indelible mark on the many productions that he participated in and paved the way as a leading saxophonist and musician. He was a member of the Mason Brothers Band, All Star band and other bands that have provided musical support to Calypso and Soca artistes for many decades. Antigua and Barbuda, the region and the World has lost another great soul.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On behalf of the Management and Staff of the Department of Culture, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and the music fraternity on the passing of Tyrone Mason. May he rest in perpetual peace and may the legacy of his contributions live on eternally.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
