The principals of the Peace, Love and Harmony (PLH) resort development in Barbuda have scored major victories in the High Court.<\/p>

Justice Marissa Robertson who heard legal arguments from both PLH, the claimants and the Barbuda Council, the defendants, as well as listened to oral arguments, ruled in favour of the developers in four key areas.<\/p>\n

The court granted PLH an interim injunction \u201cto restrain the defendant, its servants and\/or agents from entering upon the lands demised to the Applicant under a Lease dated the 22nd day of February 2017, which leasehold property is known as Low Bay and Pink Sands, Palmetto Point, Barbuda and from carrying out there on commercial sand mining operations pending the determination of the substantive claim in this matter or until further ordered.\u201d<\/p>

The court also lifted its earlier interim order that barred PLH from carrying out any works in the development or construction on the Palmetto Point project, save remedial works specifically approved by the Development Control Authority.<\/p>

Justice Robertson also ruled in favour of PLH when she dismissed an application from the Barbuda Council for injunctive relief against the company. The Court ordered that the Council bears the company\u2019s cost in the matter.<\/p>\n
