The artists will conduct live demonstrations of their craft and will showcase signature pieces from their art collections. They will rely on color, lines, gesture, composition and symbolism to tell their story and will use their talents to highlight the \u201clore\u201d and cultural traditions of the destinations that they represent.<\/p>

The art showcase is part of TASC\u2019s educational and promotional campaign \u201cGift the Caribbean” which is designed to motivate travelers to begin to plan their Caribbean getaway to enjoy the many \u201cgifts\u201d that the region has to offer, including art which is a \u201cGift of Culture.\u201d This FREE on-line session will also demonstrate how the power of visual imagery can be leveraged by travel professionals as a destination marketing tool.\u00a0 It will focus on how art impacts learning and consumer behavior, with the unique ability to \u201csay more than words.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the pandemic, art has brought many people together to share, inspire and soothe each other and visual storytelling has become an important tool in the destination marketing strategy. Instagram accounts are loaded daily with compelling photos of white sandy beaches, relaxing guests and sweeping vistas, as a subtle reminder of the joys of travel.\u00a0 Many destinations and travel brands are beginning to capitalize on the untapped pool of talented artists, to take their storytelling to new heights of creativity and authenticity.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWorks of art can tell a compelling story and during the pandemic, many people are using art as a way to find comfort or to show resilience.\u00a0 Artists in the Caribbean, like many other entrepreneurs, are struggling financially during this crisis. In our role as industry facilitators, TASC will use this opportunity to support Caribbean artists by highlighting their creativity and talent as a key part of the tourism product. We encourage everyone to visit their online stores, as this will go a long way in helping to rebuild the Caribbean economy, which is one of the most tourism-dependent regions in the world,\u201d said Kelly Fontenelle, Founder of TASC<\/p>\n

\u201cThe interest in various art forms has grown significantly during the pandemic and many Caribbean artists have found creative ways to produce artwork that resonates emotionally with travelers.\u00a0 Art also has the potential to enhance good storytelling-based marketing.\u00a0 It can evoke feelings which can potentially lead to increased interest, brand loyalty and ultimately, a transaction.\u00a0 In today\u2019s highly competitive marketplace, art experiences can add an element of authenticity to help travel professionals diversify their offerings and itineraries,\u201d said Erica Henry-Jackman, a seasoned tourism marketer,\u00a0 who will moderate the Virtual Art Showcase.<\/p>\n

The ultimate goal of any destination marketing effort is to drive visitation. But with the current restrictions on travel, artists can leverage technology as a way for visitors to stay connected with a destination and keep some of the unique selling points at the forefront of their minds.<\/p>\n

Travel Advisors Selling the Caribbean (TASC) <\/strong>is an organization with a private Facebook Group that promotes and sells Caribbean Tourism in a peer networking environment.\u00a0 With close to 7,500 members throughout North America, TASC provides a space for members to unite digitally, to converse, problem-solve, inspire and learn from each other.<\/p>\n

The \u201cGift the Caribbean\u201d<\/strong> campaign will support the recovery and promotional activities of all Caribbean destinations. TASC will play a supportive role by providing its members with innovative tools to sell the Caribbean and to stimulate greater demand for the entire tourism sector.<\/p>\n
