The University of the West Indies (UWI),\u00a0Mona, says it is currently investigating the sale of\u00a0certificates purporting to be undergraduate and post graduate degrees conferred by the institution.<\/strong><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The University has condemned the actions of those involved, adding that the matter is quite concerning.<\/p>\n

“We wish to advise employers, educational institutions and all others concerned to be vigilant and on the alert for these non-genuine documents,” a statement from the UWI read.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

It has also advised those\u00a0who come into possession of the\u00a0counterfeit documents to report the matter to the Fraud Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

It noted that all certificates conferred by the University\u00a0have security features to guarantee authenticity.<\/p>\n

“We encourage any organisation in doubt of the legitimacy of degrees or certificates to contact our Examinations Sections for verification of same,” the statement continued.<\/p>
