The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment has been made aware of the mandatory PCR testing requirement for persons traveling to Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.<\/p>

This development is expected to increase the demand for more laboratory tests at the Mount St. John\u2019s Medical Centre for the detection of the SARS Covid-19 virus.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Health officials of both Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment and the Mount St. John\u2019s Medical Centre have begun the process of expanding laboratory capacity to meet the additional demand for testing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Minister of Health Wellness and the Environment, Sir Molwyn Joseph says that the Government was already in the process of securing additional testing equipment and supplies in anticipation of this development.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He explained that in addition to the extra equipment and supplies, the Ministry will be bolstering its human resources to ensure that the laboratory output satisfies the increased demand for testing that is anticipated.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The method of testing that will be undertaken by the Mount St John\u2019s Medical Centre will continue to be the real time PCR or any other tests that may be the required for passengers leaving Antigua and Barbuda for destinations to include Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.<\/p>\n
