Twenty-four-year-old Carlson Matthew Jnr will be spending 3 months behind bars after he admitted to escaping from the St. John’s Police Station today.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

On January 5, Matthew was wanted for breaking and entering last week and was subsequently found and apprehended.<\/p>\n

The Fort Road man however, pushed his way through two men who were being taken from a shared cell and fled through the Station’s Church Street gate on January 8.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He was recaptured a day later and slapped with a few more charges.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He is now charged for allegedly breaking into the dwelling house of female resident of Villa on January 1 2021, with the intent to commit a felony.<\/p>\n

He is also accused of robbing a male resident of Gambles on Hilda Davis Drive of $75.00, and attempting to break into a dwelling house on Bishopsgate Street. Both incidents reportedly occurred on December 24, 2020.<\/p>

He was initially wanted for allegedly breaking into a dwelling house on upper St.Georges Street on December 30th 2020, and stealing a mobile handset, money and jewelry- of which he pleaded not guilty and is set to stand trial on March 24.<\/p>\n

As it relates to escaping custody Matthew alleged that he was being beaten by the officers to admit to a robbery.<\/div>\n
