Mr. Jeffers served as Chairman of the ABHTA from May 2019 to January 2021.<\/p>\n

Mr. Jeffers stated \u201cThis past year has been one of challenges, resilience and change however for me it has been one of reflection and growth. Twenty-twenty was the most challenging period for our Tourism Industry and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the membership of the ABHTA and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda as we managed our way through the pandemic. I am now transitioning into a new role and must step away from my position as Chairman of the ABHTA.\u00a0 It has been an extreme honor to have served in this capacity to support such a vibrant sector. Our Industry will again reach to record breaking levels; however we must now navigate very carefully through these difficult times.\u00a0 I would like to offer my appreciation to all members of the ABHTA and our various industry partners for their support and collaboration during my tenure.\u201d<\/p>

First Vice Chairman of the ABHTA Mr. Alex de Brito has stepped up as interim Chairman to the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

Mr. de Brito remarked that \u201cThe Association has benefited greatly from the Chairmanship of Mr. Jeffers.\u00a0 The pandemic presented a significant challenge to the membership of the Association however, Mr. Jeffers\u2019 leadership was invaluable and helped to chart the course during a very uncertain time.\u00a0 On behalf the Board of Directors, thank you Sir, for your service to the Association, we all wish you continued growth and success.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ABHTA collectively represents the hospitality industry by educating, advocating and promoting to increase visitation and the economic benefits for Antigua and Barbuda. The primary focus is on the needs and best interests of the members of the Association. The membership of the Antigua & Barbuda Hotels & Tourism Association is open to all hotels, restaurants, airlines, and companies directly or indirectly involved in the tourism sector of Antigua and Barbuda. Joining the Association is a way of showing your support of the island\u2019s tourism product and helping us to further develop our tourism industry.<\/p>\n
