Meanwhile, the statement adds to the chorus of international support that Morocco has received in recent weeks.<\/p>

Since its decision to restore the peaceful flow of goods and people in Guerguerat, Morocco\u2019s Western Sahara diplomacy has perceptibly gained new momentum.<\/p>\n

Antigua and Barbuda also expressed greatest concern regarding the development in Guerguerat, where Polisario caused a serious blockade\u00a0 for three weeks.<\/p>

Since October 21, Polisario militias carried illegal protests in the region and prevented truck drivers carrying goods for trade and regular travelers from leaving the region.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Morocco\u2019s Royal Armed Forces\u00a0 intervened to establish a \u201csecurity cordon\u201d and restore traffic. The move has since earned\u00a0 applause from both locals and the international community.<\/p>\n

Antigua and Barbuda insisted that any resolution to the Sahara\u00a0 conflict\u00a0 must be within the framework of Morocco\u2019s sovereignty and respect for its territorial integrity.<\/p>\n

The country, a former Polisario ally,\u00a0 withdrew its recognition of the militant group\u2019s self-styled republic\u00a0 in 2010.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, in January, Morocco and the Carribean country signed a cooperation agreement to focus on training, agriculture, and tourism.<\/p>\n

The cooperation is also in line with Morocco\u2019s South-South approach.<\/p>\n

During a press conference following the agreement, Morocco thanked\u00a0 its new ally for the standfast support for its territorial integrity.<\/p>\n
