Multiple Google services and websites including YouTube, Gmail, Google Assistant, and Google Docs have been hit with a widespread outage. DownDetector indicates that the outage, which appears to be affecting Google\u2019s business and personal services, started at around 6:40AM ET\u00a0in the case of Gmail<\/a>.<\/p>

As of this writing, Google is yet to officially acknowledge the issue, and\u00a0the status page for its services<\/a>\u00a0is reporting that none are experiencing issues. However, reports are mounting on Twitter as users can\u2019t access its basic services, with\u00a0Gmail<\/a>\u00a0and the hashtag \u201c#YouTubeDOWN<\/a>\u201d starting to trend<\/p>\n

As well as impacting YouTube viewers, and companies that rely on Google Workspace, users are reporting that\u00a0smart home gadgets<\/a>\u00a0integrated with Google Assistant are experiencing issues. We\u2019ve verified that a Nest Hub smart display is unable to control a connected smart heater, for example.<\/p>

The outage appears to be worldwide. We\u2019ve verified that services are experiencing issues in the US, UK, Netherlands, and Japan, and DownDetector\u2019s outage reports are spanning the globe.<\/p>
