As residents continue to gripe over the state of the nations roads, the governments has made “more than $20 miilion” available to the Public Works Department for roadworks.<\/p>

In his Cabinet Notes, government spokesman Lionel “Max” Hurst said that as part of the road improvement efforts, Public Works has decided to station night crews in hopes of getting work done when there is a low volume of traffic. The department will focus on\u00a0Sutherlands, Coolidge and Bethesda on Wednesday and Thursday nights. However, “on the weekend the night crew will move on to other communities repairing potholes.”<\/p>\n

Additionally, Hurst noted\u00a0that the process of paving concrete roads in West Palm Beach continues, and new surfaces are being laid in Mount Pleasant, Cassada Gardens near the government\u2019s workshop on Factory Road, as well as in Golden Grove.<\/p>

Meanwhile, drains and gutters are under construction on\u00a0Jim Daddy Road, with the promise that the paving of the road will “follow immediately after.”<\/p>

The Director , the Permanent Secretary and the Deputy Director of Public Works were all invited to give an update on the road repair program on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
