The\u00a0Passport\u00a0and Citizenship Division of Antigua and Barbuda on Monday 30th<\/sup>\u00a0November 2020 announced that through a Decision of the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda, it has extended the\u00a0deadline for the mandatory recall\u00a0period for all Antigua and Barbuda Machine Readable\u00a0Passports to 31st<\/sup>\u00a0December 2021.<\/p>

This decision was taken in light of the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the finances of the populace.\u00a0 In addition, travel restrictions, quarantine requirements and mandatory lockdown in countries where Antigua and Barbuda consulates and High Commissions operate are hampering overseas applicants from submitting applications in a timely manner to meet the previous recall deadline.<\/p>\n

\n

All citizens of Antigua and Barbuda with a Machine-Readable\u00a0passport\u00a0are advised that the document now becomes invalid on 1st<\/sup>\u00a0January 2022.\u00a0 Only ePassports will be valid for travel as of 1st<\/sup>\u00a0January 2022.\u00a0 The\u00a0recall\u00a0of all Machine-Readable\u00a0passports will facilitate the use of only the new Antigua and Barbuda ePassport\u00a0introduced in April 2017.<\/p>

Application forms for the ePassports are available at the\u00a0Passport\u00a0Office, Queen Elizabeth Highway, the Antigua and Barbuda Missions in the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom\u00a0 or from the government\u2019s website at\u00a0www.ab.gov.ag<\/a>.\u00a0 Further information is available from the\u00a0Passport\u00a0Office in Antigua and Barbuda at telephone 462-0092.<\/p>
