The National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda – St. John’s Rural South Youth Parliamentarian *Romario Hughes* says that while much of what the chapter does is focused on democracy and debates, the members are also very active in community support. One of the ways they did that is through a Food Basket initiative held on Sunday.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Due to the pandemic, the St. John’s Rural South team which is chaired by *Tanaijah Matthias* did a survey within the community to source the less fortunate persons who have been adversely affected by COVID 19.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The initiative was held at the Golden Grove Primary School and was attended by *Kaiesha Joseph who is the Constituency Secretary, Tamia Bingham and Byron Christopher*. A total of 23 packages were given to persons within the community.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The St. John’s Rural South Youth believes volunteerism in its purest form, is the most sincere and earnest way a community can work towards a more inclusive and unified society.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Hughes said that events such as the food packages, book drive, clean up day and volunteering at the community center are ways youth can give back to the community.<\/div>\n
