Antigua Barbuda Hotels & Tourism Association (ABHTA) membership including accommodations, restaurants, tours and retail shops continue to reopen their doors leading up to the 2020\/2021 Winter Season.<\/p>

\u201cHaving a diverse selection of resorts open for business is the best way to signal travellers that Antigua and Barbuda can deliver the safe Caribbean beach getaway they\u2019ve been dreaming about,\u201d says Vernon A. Jeffers, Snr, Chairman of the ABHTA. \u201cOur\u00a0members have been proactive and creative to make sure they are at the forefront of attracting some of this pent up demand and informing those ready to book a vacation whether it\u2019s for travel now or in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hermitage Bay welcomed guests and staff alike back to its luxurious property on October 1st<\/sup>. According to General Manager Rachel Browne, the resort has put all safety requirements in place without compromising its signature unique five-star experience. A new role to the property called Standard Coordinators has also been introduced to ensure guests are always confident when booking Hermitage Bay.\u00a0 The sole responsibility of these team members is to ensure that all Health and Safety Procedures are met at all times. Couple Allan and Barbara arrived for the reopening week and thanked everyone for their efforts saying, \u201cYou have created an environment where we feel 100% safe and secure. We cannot get over how you have planned everything so perfectly and how, even though things have changed in the world, Hermitage has adapted and stayed the same.\u201d<\/p>

Leading up to its October 1st<\/sup>\u00a0reopening, Blue Waters responded to a change in its guests\u2019 booking patterns to within the month of travel with their \u201cBook with Confidence Guarantee\u201d giving guests the option to cancel up to eight days prior to arrival without penalty. Blue Waters\u2019 Luxury Suites have undergone a refreshment as has the Palm restaurant which for the first time offers a full \u00e0 la carte breakfast. Three al fresco restaurants are open on a rotating basis replacing the enclosed Bartley\u2019s restaurant which will remain closed at this time. The Kids Club will be closed 2020-21 with in-room babysitting services or nanny services which include outdoor playtime offered as an alternative.<\/p>

Curtain Bluff will reopen on October 24th and has announced the Cee Bee kids camp will be operational five days a week offering two session per day with a maximum of eight children attending each session. The entire \u201cbasecamp\u201d area located on the resort\u2019s calm-water beach, will be electro-statically sanitized overnight, with additional cleaning every morning before the start of camp and then again in between each session.<\/p>\n

ABHTA member resorts that will also be reopening in October are Admirals Inn (Gunpowder Suites), Keyonna Beach Resort, Galley Bay Resort & Spa , Tamarind Hills, to be followed throughout the month by Antigua Village, Carlisle Bay Resort, The Great House Antigua, St. James\u2019s Club, Antigua Yacht Club Marina, Ocean Point Resort, and Hawksbill Resort.<\/p>
