Sixteen Senior Police Officers and one Senior Prison Officer graduated from the Sir Wright F. George Police Academy, having completed a Senior Police\\Prison Administrators Course-SPAC.<\/p>

The two weeks of training started on Monday 14th<\/sup> September and concluded on Friday 25th<\/sup> September, with a short graduation ceremony. The course covered a wide range of topics; to include, Corruption in Public Office, Human Rights, Critical Thinking, Effective Communication, Use of Force Policy, Effective Leadership, and Change Management, among others.<\/p>\n

The objective of the training was to further develop senior officers within their various organizations, to adapt to the changing trends, and to be in a position to provide better leadership and quality service to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

 <\/p>\n

Permanent Secretary with the Ministry of Public Safety and Labour, Mrs. Stacey Gregg-Paige was present and delivered the feature address. She told the officers that they should be better equipped as leaders, to continue the process of change within their various organizations. She further stated that the quality of training should bring about a balance in their professional lives; especially in the manner in which they deal with members of the public and their colleagues.<\/p>

Police Commissioner, Atlee Rodney in his remarks congratulated the officers for completing the course. He further urged them to remain focus and continue the self-development process, to realize the successful advancement of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda. Commandant of the Academy, Superintendent of Police Louisa Benjamin-Quashie, gave an overview of the course.<\/p>
