For the second time in as many days, the weight of the COVID-19 pandemic got the better of state broadcaster ABS. The strain in getting its flagship newscast to air was once again evident.<\/p>

Minutes into Sunday evening\u2019s newscast \u2014 which was being done for a makeshift studio at the Parliament building \u2014 the Facebook feed was cut and replaced by a notice that they were experiencing technical difficulties. A promise to upload the feed momentarily never materialized.<\/p>\n

On Friday ABS also had\u00a0difficulties getting the evening news going\u00a0\u2014 with the broadcast starting 30 minutes after the scheduled start time.<\/p>

Most of the ABS news staff are in home quarantine after one of their colleagues tested positive for the novel coronavirus last week.<\/p>
